About the Foundation
Nyay Vishwas Foundation is a not-for-profit based in Jalgaon. We help people understand legal problems they are already facing. Someone from the team listens to the matter, looks at whatever papers are available, and explains the position and what can be done next. The work stops at guidance: we do not accept cases, and we do not represent anyone.
Most of this work happens in two ways: through our Nyay Shibirs, which are free legal-aid camps held every couple of months in Maharashtra, and through enquiries that reach us by phone, WhatsApp or the form on this website. There is no fee for any of it.
The founder
Adv. Aniket Ujjwal Nikam grew up in Jalgaon and practises at the Bombay High Court and the Supreme Court of India. Over the years, people from home would call him about a case, a notice or an office they had been sent to. The Foundation was set up so that those questions could be answered properly, and by more than one person.
The Foundation is a separate non-profit initiative. Adv. Nikam's legal practice at his Mumbai chambers is not routed through the Foundation, and the Foundation does not accept case referrals for private representation.
How it is run
The Foundation is registered under Section 8 of the Companies Act, 2013 and is run by a board of directors, with Adv. Aniket Ujjwal Nikam as founder. The board decides the Shibir calendar, approves partnerships and reviews how enquiries have been handled. Panel of advocates
Our panel of advocates handles the legal side of the work. They sit at the Shibir desks, explain the legal position, and answer questions afterwards, alongside their own practice. They are not engaged through the Foundation for any individual matter. You can see the panel here.
What we cannot do
We are not an emergency service, and we do not appear in court on your behalf. If there is immediate danger, call the police on 112. We also cannot promise an outcome in any matter. What we can do is tell you clearly where things stand and what the reasonable next step is.
